Can this permanent magnet synchronous motor be used as a generator?
Yes. Due to its special working theory, it can function as a generator. If it runs clockwise (CW) as a motor, it functions as a generator when run counter-clockwise (CCW). Note that an AFE functional motor controller is required for generator use.
Why can't I use a direct three-phase AC supply to start the motor?
The rotor has high inertia, and the magnetic field spins so rapidly that a static rotor cannot synchronize with it immediately. A driver is necessary to manage the startup process.
What are the technical requirements for the VFD driver?
The driver must be a vector control VFD with specialized internal software. Compatible series include Siemens 6SE70, Yaskawa CR5, ABB ACS800, and our MH300 series VFD.
How is the permanent magnet rotor protected from failure?
Every rotor undergoes rigorous testing, including corrosion resistance, high-temperature demagnetization, and linear demagnetization tests. The demagnetization index is strictly maintained within 2%.
