1. Can a permanent magnet synchronous motor be used as a generator?
Yes. It can work as a generator due to its working theory. If it runs CW as a motor, it can run CCW as a generator. Note that you will need a suitable motor controller with AFE function.
2. Why can't I directly use three-phase AC supply to start it?
Because the rotor has significant inertia and the magnetic fields spin so fast that a static rotor cannot synchronize with the magnetic field immediately.
3. Are there special technical requests for the VFD driver?
Yes, it requires a vector control VFD with specialized software, such as Siemens 6SE70, ABB ACS800, or our matching MH300 series VFD.
4. How is the permanent magnet rotor protected from failure?
Each rotor undergoes corrosion resistance, consistency, and high-temperature demagnetization tests. The demagnetization index is kept within 2%.
5. Where are these motors typically used?
These motors are primarily used in variable frequency speed situations such as high-speed compressors, fans, and specialized pumps.
6. What cooling options are available?
We offer Air cooling, Water (glycol) cooling, and Oil cooling options based on your specific application and power requirements.
